SXSW 2012 is shaping up to be the busiest SXSW ever for me!

This year I will be speaking at SXSW Interactive on Saturday, March 10th, 12:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in the New Business Track. I’ll be representing Big Business in a session called “Why Small is the new Big and Big is the new Small” with friend and small business internet marketeer, Jason Stoddard. This will be a highly interactive session where you will not only learn, but you will have fun applying the concepts first hand in an #eggcellent (hashtag for session) market simulation. I hope to see you there!

I’ll also be doing several press interviews, videos and even appearing on a Time Warner Cable Show on the 19th with Chris Carillo, producer of the Austin Music Network.

This year IBM will have a bigger presence than ever and I have been busily working on the plans with a cross-IBM team and our Business Partner, Ascendant Technology. Peter Leech interviewed me recently about how social is impacting retailers and it turned into a conversation on how social was transforming businesses in general. It was a great conversation and it was fun being featured on the homepage of SocialMediaClub.org. You can read the full interview here. As many of you know I am very involved in the local chapter and am now the incoming President of Social Media Club Austin for 2012. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the International Organization. It was the first non-profit organization focused on Social Media and has been around for over five years. It is an amazing group of people around the globe, over 300 chapters strong. If you have never been to a Social Media Club event, I would highly encourage it. Chances are you have a chapter in your town and if you don’t then you can always start one. There is a strong support system for both local chapter leaders and universities who want to start an EDU chapter as well.
